Tobia Lamare is a mainstay of the Salento (south east Italy) alternative music scene. His large parties have hosted international and underground artists the likes of Dave Rowntree of Blur, Mike Joyce of The Smiths, and many more.
 
Lamare has opened for bands such as Kings Of Convenience and Iggy Pop and the Stooges. In Europe, he has toured far and wide playing in clubs, bookshops, big festivals (Sziget) and everything in between. Lamare’s travels have extended in Germany, Belgium, Ireland, U.K., Spain, the States, Netherlands and all over Italy. From Dublin to Barcelona to Berlin to London to Nashville, Lamare has connected with audiences worldwide.

He has worked extensively composing music for the theatre, art stalls and cinema for movies like “Ius Maris” (2018) and “I Naviganti” (2020) both presented at Festival di Venezia. Tobia had released four solo albums since 2010. His last work “Songs For The Present Time”  has been classified as a mix of the Cure, Dylan, Springsteen and Prince and it has been broadcasted from national radios in Italy and very well reviewed by the press in Italy and abroad.

Tobia has released four albums as solo artist: The Party (2010), Are you ready for the freaks? (2012), ‘Summer Melodies’ (2017), “Songs For The Present time” (2019).
 
He is often compared to artist like Jack Johnson as he is deeply connected and inspired by the ocean. His last album was deeply influenced by blues, soul music and the sound of the west coast of the United States. His live sound is a mix between Bob Dylan, Grover Washington Jr, The Cure and Mudhoney.
 
 

Tobia Lamare è da vent’anni una figura di spicco della cultura alternativa in Salento. Musicista e dj a 45 giri, nei suoi party ha ospitato rockstar internazionali e artisti underground: Dave Rowntree (Blur), Mike Joyce (the Smiths), Eddie Piller (Acid Jazz), SnowBoy (Amy WineHouse). Ha composto musiche per il teatro, documentari, film, per installazioni (Michelangelo Pistoletto) e ha aperto i concerti di band come Kings Of Convenience, Iggy Pop & the Stooges.

 
Ha  quattro album da solista all’attivo: The Party (2010), Are you ready for the freaks? (2012), Summer Melodies (2017), Songs For The Present Time (2019).
  Il suo ultimo album è stato spesso definito come una miscela di Cure, Dylan e Springsteen.
È stato in giro per l’Italia e l’Europa in lunghi tour, suonando in grandi club, librerie, festival come lo Sziget a Budapest, in Irlanda tra Dublino e le big wave della costa atlantica, per agricoltori ubriachi a Nashville o nei folk e rock club di Londra, Berlino, Amsterdam e Barcellona.
 
La sua etichetta e casa, Lobello Records, si trova nella campagna salentina diventando, negli anni, un piccolo network europeo di artisti legati al mare, in particolar modo alla surf culture. Dal 2008 Tobia ha prodotto artisti locali e internazionali, realizzato documentari e residenze artistiche con l’obiettivo di costruire connessioni tra la musica e le onde.
